Team strength in Hattrick is decided by seven sectors: midfield, three defense sectors and three attack sectors. This assistant approximates the Hattrick match engine - each player’s effective skill combines base skills with form, stamina, loyalty and the mother-club bonus, then position-specific weights distribute it across the sectors. Individual orders, the team tactic, play style, player specialties and imported position ratings (from CSV exports) all feed into the exact score shown on every pitch slot.
The match predictor goes one step further: sector attack versus opponent defense produces expected goals, and a Poisson scoreline model turns them into win, draw and loss probabilities plus a possession estimate - so you can compare lineups objectively before setting your orders in the game.
Hattrick Lineup Assistant is a free, browser-based tool for managers of the online football manager game Hattrick. It imports your real player data, helps you build and optimize lineups with a drag-and-drop pitch, calculates team ratings for all seven sectors, predicts match outcomes and audits your squad for release candidates.
Use the Import Players button: upload a CHPP XML file, a CSV player export (for example from Hattrick Organizer or Hattrick Youthclub, including Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian localized exports), or paste JSON data directly. The app auto-detects the format, and you can also load a sample squad to try every feature first.
Yes. The assistant runs entirely in your browser - player data, lineups and settings are stored only in your browser’s local storage. Nothing is uploaded to a server, no account is needed and nothing is shared with third parties. You can export a JSON backup at any time.
Each player’s effective skill is derived from base skills adjusted by form, stamina, loyalty and mother-club bonus. Position-specific contribution weights then distribute that skill across midfield, defense and attack sectors. The selected tactic, play style, individual orders, specialty and experience influence the positional scores, and the match predictor converts sector ratings into expected goals using a Poisson model.
Auto-Optimize solves the global assignment problem for the chosen formation: it evaluates every available player at every slot (including the best individual order for each), accounts for tactic and play style bonuses, and picks the combination with the highest total score. Injured and suspended players are automatically excluded.
Eight formations are built in: 3-5-2, 3-4-3, 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-5-1, 5-4-1, 5-3-2 and 2-5-3. Tactics include Normal, Pressing, Counter Attacks, Attack on Wings, Attack in the Middle, Play Creatively and Long Shots, combined with defensive, neutral or offensive play style.
Yes - the Copy BBCode feature generates a Hattrick-formatted table with your starting XI, optional match header, reserves grouped by position, captain and set-piece taker. Paste it directly into a team or forum post.
